Marcelo Figueiredo Fernandes of Anderson, SC is the very deserved winner or our Fall 2007 Award. Marcelo, a sophomore studying Microbiology at Clemson University, demonstrated and exercises a concrete awareness of the many talents and abilities that we have as humans and the potential that can be realized if we only employ persistence and determination. Through his early studies and several enriching volunteer experiences with others who have benefited from his wisdom and support, his first year at Clemson has stimulated a realization and appreciation process within himself that is expected to lead him to richer understandings and a fulfillment that may have not been reached otherwise.
