Phillip Charles Musgrave is the Founder and Managing Principal of Garden Street Capital-Allocation Strategies, LLC. Before assuming this role, he was at Investor's Bank and Trust Company (since acquired by State Street Corporation) in Boston, Massachusetts where he was the Fund Accountant for a tax-managed equity-value mutual fund while simultaneously acting in an identical role for two investment-grade, fixed income bond funds, all with a cumulative average asset value of approximately $2.1 billion.
During this same time, he founded and directed Musgrave Atlantic, Inc., the philosophical impetus for the Garden Street Educational Foundation. Musgrave Atlantic was a nonprofit scholarship organization awarding five scholarships to undergraduates at a small group of southeastern U.S. universities.
Phillip Charles' work and research interests include proper risk recognition in business models and market valuations and unlocking intellectual curiosity through applied study methods. He has published two theses on optimal strategies to uncover value and long-term capital growth opportunites in domestic equity markets and is currently working on a third that considers the complementing natures of capitalism and human psychologies and how these fuel economic progress and the resultant evolution of business models. These works are the structural foundation of the proprietary investment model which is employed by the Garden Street Founder's Fund.
Phillip Charles holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Maryland.
